Biography



Mikael Johansson (artist name: Leakim) is a Swedish composer, sound designer, and performer based in Berlin. Raised in Dalarna, Sweden, he was deeply influenced by the region's rich folk music traditions, which continue to inform his distinctive musical language alongside inspirations drawn from Berlin's contemporary club scene.
Trained at Kävesta Folkhögskola and Performing Arts School in Gothenburg, Johansson has worked professionally as a musical theatre performer since 2006, appearing at venues including Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin and Gothenburg Opera House. Alongside his performance career, he has established himself as a versatile composer and musical director, creating work for institutions such as Anhaltisches Theater Dessau, Theater Pforzheim, and Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall.
He is the creator of the musical FLUSH, developed at SchwuZ Queer Club in Berlin, for which he received the Deutscher Musical Theater Preis for Best Sound Design. His compositional work also includes Isabel (film and stage), which received awards for Best Musical and Best Debut Film at the Stuttgart Film Festival.
